Overview
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) must be passionate about ensuring quality care for seniors in our community. The ADON provides direct care and management of care staff to meet and exceed state and local licensing guidelines. This individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills as they collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON), physicians, pharmacists, and other care providers. The ADON must be hands-on and work well with the DON to support the mission of Our Lady of Hope in meeting the physical, social, and emotional needs of all residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision of nursing team
- 24/7 on-call availability
- Perform clinical rounds and determine resident needs
- Notify the DON of any changes in residents’ status
- Assist the DON in medication administration oversight
- Ensure proper documentation and accurate resident care records
- Enforce company policies and procedures and state regulations
- Perform assessments
- Participate in care plan meetings
- Participate in staff training
- Provide or delegate hands-on care as needed
- Other tasks as requested by the Director of Nursing or Executive Director/Administrator
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license
- CPR certification
- Experience in nursing management/supervision and direct care
- Experience in senior care is preferred
*Sign-on bonuses are offered in incremental payments over a 18-month period for full-time positions only.
